What do I do about theft?

I moved into a house about 3 months ago.the land lady is like a mother to me.I went on holdiay abroad and on the day I left my landlady's niece came over to the house and stayed a while.at dis time my landlady was away.my landlady came back a day after her niece came to the house and claims she was looking for her jewelry bagn cos it was missing.she claims she has looked everywhere and is yet to find it.I only got bak on monday night just for her to tell me on tursdsay morning dat d bag was missing.wot do u advise I do as I don't want the relationship between us to be jeopardised?serious and honest answers please.
