Are GOLD PLATED Collectibles a wise purchase?

The problem is that the gold is so thin that it is worth only a few cents and the coins or bars cost much more than the gold is worth. You will not be around by the time the value of gold gets high enough to out weigh the price you paid. Not a good investment.
