My boyfriend wants spiderbites?

So my boyfriend first decided he wanted snakebites for a long time, then just recently he changed his mind to spiders. I know he can pull them off great, no worries there, but i'm a bit worried about them otherwise. So, i have a few questions because i don't know anyone that has spiderbites (i only know people that has the snakes and singles :/). First of all, it's going to be his first piercing. He assures me he can handle the pain and all and i know he's gonna keep them clean but i'm wondering if it's gonna be too much for him to get both piercings at the same time. I've heard that getting snakebites is a pain in the neck so i'm wondering if he should just get one the first time, let it heal a bit, then get the other. Or would that be too annoying? Second question is how far apart exactly do they pierce them? With pictures that i've seen they're really close together. But how do they do that without over-lapping the backs of the jewelry?
