I recently got a job in Florida they will be sending me to Homestead but I dont know anything about florida i ?

I would call Homestead a small-sized city, like a boring suburb. Back in 2000, the census showed 32000, but with a boom in 2002, it might be closer to 40000 now. The beaches and the big cities are a drive northward into the Miami area. Commuting is hell around Miami and you should probably consider living as close to work as reasonably possible. Apartment communities around Homestead start around 600-700 for a 1 br, and can easily approach 1000 in the more secure areas.
